Shining Trapezohedron Shard
As a proud lifetime member of the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society, I’ve always been enamored (yet deeply intimidated) by the annual Eldritch Elf gift exchange. This year was going to be different, however. Having gained confidence with my Cthulhu crate (as well as now owning a vacuum chamber), I felt it was time to jump in with the big kids.
This was a challenging build for a couple of reasons: first, to achieve the properties of a deep ruby gem with resin and mica powder and second, polishing it to a degree where it didn’t look like a 3D print. While it took several attempts, I’m still not entirely happy with the end result. I think the next time I attempt something like this, I’ll have to take more time with the preparation of the model prior to creating a mold.
I hope my Eldritch Elf recipient enjoyed their gift.
