Thermal Detonator

Adding electronics to a prop was a daunting thought. Just thinking about how to get the series of lights and sounds working the way you want it to gave me anxiety. Building a Thermal Detonator was a great way to jump into this, though. It’s an extremely simple circuit, with just single audio file looping. The most challenging part of this build actually turned out to be trying to cram all of the electronics inside, while not obstructing the trigger. It was the first time I’d attempted anything this ambitious and I’m really glad I did.

The next project needs to have an easier way to recharge the battery though.
